Our Staff

Jason joined the staff of Southview in April of 2020. Prior to being hired on, he and his wife, Danielle, had been working at Show Me Christian Youth Home as houseparents for 6 years. Jason has been in Vocational Ministry for 20 years, starting as the Youth Minister at his home church in Hanoverton, Ohio when he was just 18 years old.

Jason and his wife both graduated from Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Mo. Jason has also done some Masters work in Christian Leadership through Hope International University in Fullerton, Ca.

Jason is an avid Cleveland Browns fan so he naturally has a heart for the broken and downtrodden. He enjoys the outdoors and going to theme parks with his family, especially since his children are big enough to enjoy rollercoasters! You can usually find him with a cup of coffee in one hand a a book in another while Barry calls him a nerd.

His biggest goal is to disciple and train leaders for the future of the church, leaving our kids and grandkids with a church grounded in sound teaching and willing to embrace the awkward and messy as we take the truth to a world that needs Jesus.

  • Barry Watts, Youth & Children's Pastor

Barry has had the honor of serving as the youth and children’s pastor at Southview Christian Church for over 5 years. He does not claim to be a real smart guy, but in case you are interested, after attending Harding University, Barry completed his Financial Business degree at Florida Southern College in 2000. He has been blessed to serve in the Youth and Children’s Ministries at North Lake Church of Christ and Lawrence Heights Christian Church before joining Southview’s staff in 2015.

Barry is an avid golfer who enjoys sports of all kinds; playing, watching or coaching. He enjoys fishing, grilling, woodworking and spending time with his wife Megan and son Isaac. He has a few mottos to live by:

    - "Leftovers are for quitters."

    - "Give me coffee or give me death!"

    - "Jesus loves you and I'm trying."

Above all, Barry has a passion for mentoring and leading youth and children to a relationship with the Lord that lasts a lifetime. His commitment is to love God and love others.
